HAIR CUT AND STYLE
I will do my best to match your breed style of cut, or if you have another style in mind, or if it's a freestyle cut, I will to my very best to see that you are satisfied and that your dog is well treated when in my care.
BATHING AND BRUSHING
How often your pet will need a dog bath will depend on the breed and what type of activities the dog is involved in. It's best to bathe your dog only when your dog is really dirty. Just use your nose - that tell tale doggy smell will let you know it's time for a bath.
If a dog is bathed too often the skin will be stripped of its natural, protective oils. This will result in dry itchy skin, which will cause your dog to scratch, further irritating the already sensitive skin. If you need to bathe your dog more frequently make sure to use a pet shampoo that will also moisturize your dog's skin. You may also want to follow up with an after bath pet coat conditioner specifically formulated for dry skin.
EARS
Ear care is an important part of grooming. Ear infections can not only be painful, but lead to permanent hearing loss. The signs of a problem with a companion animal's ears include redness, constant scratching, head shaking and odor.
TEETH
Companion animals can get cavities and develop periodontal disease, so their teeth should be cleaned with a pet toothpaste at least twice per week.
NAILS
Dog nail trimming is one of the most important grooming elements to participate in. This is because long nails on a dog can cause them to have trouble walking and can eventually lead to infection on their paws.
ANAL GLANDS - (BY REQUEST ONLY)
Anal gland disease is a common problem in dogs. The anal glands can become impacted, infected, and abscessed. Affected pets may lick the anal area, "scoot" along the floor, or have problems with defecation. When the glands become impacted, a veternarian, groomer, or the pet's owner must clean them out, or "express" them. This empties the glands of all material.
